We understand the implications of this question and the connotations that may arise for some folks. Our ask for this information is to be able to use it to spotlight and uplift your shop in the future, and to be sure we are indeed creating a safe space for artists of the global majority, as stated in our mission.
Sample of lived experience: As a neurodivergent Muslim millennial, my lived experience is central to my art. Growing up in a working-class neighborhood, I didn’t see many people who looked like me in creative spaces. That perspective drives me to create work that uplifts marginalized voices and represents stories often overlooked.
